Who Am I

My name is Leonardo Crahay Bloklander (23), also known as Leonardo CB. I’m a filmmaker based in Hilversum, the Netherlands.

From a young age I was drawn to the power of images and the emotion they carry. What started as curiosity turned into focus. Over time that pull became something more controlled. I learned how to shape it and use it with intention.

After high school I completed a three year AV Specialist program. In my final year I founded Leonardo Film. Since then I’ve worked with a wide range of creatives and companies, building experience across different types of productions.

In my work every frame serves a purpose. My approach to camerawork comes from both documentary and narrative experience. In documentary you learn fast that the world doesn’t revolve around you. So you move with it. You adapt. No matter how complex or demanding it gets.

In narrative work that shifts. There you can shape everything. The world starts to move around the camera instead of the other way around.

That contrast defines how I work. It’s knowing when to follow and when to take control. Every choice matters. Movement. Framing. Timing.

I work with a carefully built kit that allows me to maintain a high visual standard across different types of productions. In the end it’s not about the equipment though. It’s about how you use it.
